4 steps to remove an ingrown toenail

An ingrown toenail is a quite common but not that pleasant condition. What is more, it is so easy to influence it in a wrong way. The thing is that the causes for ingrown toenail are more than various, starting with the poor trimming and ending with some repeated activities that have an impact on your toes.

Very often the ingrown nail is the one on the big toe, but there are exceptions so that you should not only rely on that statistic. As a matter of fact, we are not going to discuss the causes of this condition we are going to concentrate our attention on the ways to get rid of it.

Even though it is not that difficult to take care of this condition you should better avoid creating suitable conditions for its appearance.

Step 1

Of course, the first thing that you should do is to soak your feet properly. To make a proper foot soak you should better add some sea salt and baking soda to it, this will help soften the skin around the ingrown toenail better.

Step 2

This one may be quite unpleasant, especially if the area is infected. You need to pull up your toenail a little. If you notice that there is some infection or puss, you should better disinfect the area properly.

Step 3

Take some cotton and soak it well in iodine or any other antibacterial cream. Pull your toenail up a little and try to place the cotton soak in antibacterial cream under it. Do not pull up too much, so that you do not cause more damage than good.

Step 4

You should change the cotton every day within 15 days until your toe is properly healed. Also, it is important to trim your toenails on a regular basis so that the issue does not reoccur.

Only 15 days and you will get free of this unpleasant condition but it is a lot better to do everything possible to prevent it from happening at all!
